Adam Bokesch Releases A Lush and Beautifully Enticing Album

ree

The brand new Light, Remembered album from Adam Bokesch is one of my favorite new things. The reason is that it is very rare that you find a record that sends you off on a drift with lush soundscapes the way this one does. The songs on this record are elegant and beautiful, sensations of ethereal and spiritual uplifting and dream-like aesthetics flow through the veins of this record from beginning to end, and with that, you are invited along for all of those sensations, moods, and tones.

The album ventures into atmospheres that feel thick, flowing, and graceful, and each individual track on the release has a little something different to offer, but still with the same gorgeously vast underbelly and feeling of something almost mystical in a sense.

These are completely immersive, cinematic, and can be powerful. They send your mind to drift with the music. The beauty of songs like this is that your mind will go where it wants to. Each listener will have a different journey listening to this album.

Maybe that's its purpose. Maybe the purpose of a record like this is to have the unique response and interpretation, experience, or journey when listening to the full record.

For me, this was like floating face up in a lake staring at the stars in the night sky and thinking about my childhood memories flowing in and out of my head as songs unfold, moods change, and that ethereal and ambient set of textures sort of takes over.

It feels like being peacefully washed ashore from the ocean, and when it's all over, you stand up on that beach and you look back at the ocean and you just realize how immensely experienced that actually was.

It's not exactly like meditation, but it leans in that direction. The music can certainly be used for various levels of meditation, but that's not really its purpose. Its purpose is to sort of serve up this set of sounds and pieces that mean something to the artist, and for you to again interpret them in your own way.

Keys, pads, synths, and light percussion create robust atmospheres, and they wrap themselves around you and let you swim through them.

One of my favorite aspects of this entire thing is its combination of diverse instrumental key sounds. There are horns, an electronic style that creates depth and distance between your ears and the layers of the songs themselves.

These are very wet, and you can easily get engulfed and swallowed up by the tones that you end up hearing.

The whole thing is a combination of electronic and orchestrated, cinematic and dreamy pieces of music, and again, each one has slightly different tones and moods to offer, which is part of why it's so impactful.

Adam is really able to create these worlds for you to step into. If you listen to this full album, which by the way, is only about 40 minutes long, you will have such a unique and deepening experience.

The songs let you become somewhat reflective, and that is really quite a gift.

These are ambient and semi-classical, orchestrated and full-bodied, flowing pieces that are structured and dynamically balanced in such a gorgeous way that only listening to the full album will give you that spectrum.

A lot of this stuff can give you a sense of peace, tranquility; it is calming, and sonically enticing.

When I hear records like this, I almost always suggest listening with headphones on.

Like I mentioned before, this is very immersive, and listening to it with headphones is, hands down, the best way to really take everything in.

These are songs you can breathe in and exhale out while you're listening.

For me, it was a beautiful experience, and I suggest anyone who listens to do it with headphones so they can get that same kind of journey and feel.

Records like this were built with a certain aesthetic in mind, and that was completely nailed with this release.

Adam is a Nashville-based composer and producer, along with being a multi-instrumentalist, who was really able to pull together something that felt impactful and brought together strings,  synths, piano, horns, and more to build a unique state of being.

Dive into this right now. You will not regret it.
