A very recent single release from Stay For Tomorrow brings together a soiree of hard and pop rock approaches with some added instrumentation to bring in brightness, the new single called "Crushing Down" has a unique approach to honesty as the lyrics are serious but the music has a way of bringing in that vivacious and colorful feel so it brings to mind old school bands from the '90s that will more post-punk where the music was very happy but the lyrics were very kind of sad and sullen.
The lyrics here aren't exactly said and saw in it but they are honest and that makes the song very authentic, but what grabs you is the energy that the band captures on the recording itself because it feels alive, and this is something you rarely get so when you do have it it's something that you hold on to.
The riffs and time signatures are cool on this track and they're a little bit outside the box but still really catchy and memorable as there are parts of this song that end up bouncing around in your head for quite some time after the song has ended.
One of the things I loved about this track was their whole approach to bringing in the chorus and touching on different influences throughout the song itself without being afraid to have everything coded in pop.
This is something that lets a lot of the different parts of the song complement each other so, you know that there was a lot of attention to detail when it came to the arrangement, and it was very smart because it gives the song a certain kind of forward moving flow but still has a little bit of that edgy explosive punch where it needs it.
This was a pop-rock song, but it did have elements of pop-punk and even a sort of math-rock undertone at certain points.
I love the blend of influences and subgenres in rock that happens throughout this track because no matter what, it comes through with this bursting personality.
This is fun, very charismatic, and had a full-bodied approach that was danceable, memorable, and still touched on those serious elements and hit those heavier sections but without going too over the top so that it's very friendly to everybody.
A very well-woven single from a band that I will most likely be paying a lot more attention to after this track, have a good listen to "Crushing Down" and once you do, I would suggest that you stick around and check out an album they released last year called The Story So Far which is outstanding.
These guys have a lot to offer and have been in the game for long enough to be able to put out songs that have an impact and that you want to share with people.
A great combination of hard-hitting rock and honesty with that sort of rambunctious and enthusiastic approach.
