A new single release from The Worry People delivers a very vast and spacious pop-rock atmosphere and they do so by incorporating these distanced guitars and delayed vocals that come through with a sort of cinematic underbelly and this feels really good when you listen to the track nice and loud.
"Naked" is most certainly the type of song that sticks with you for quite a while after it ends and this is because that atmosphere that it boasts has a way of wrapping itself around you and keeping you right where it wants to but, this is something that I look for when I hear music that has some emotional drive to it.
This single most certainly does have a bit of emotional drive but it also has beautiful layers of textures and these sorts of bright vocals that come together and create a colorful but still slightly edgy approach. It does hit a very pop-coated rock soundscape, but it does so with charm.
When you listen to this track you get the feeling it came from someplace real, and this makes it sort of authentic in a way but what really grabs you isn't just the lyrics but it's the actual formation and arrangement of the track itself because it's got a way of really feeling alive and breathing.
The music settles down for the verses so that you can hear what's going on, but you know there's going to be a big build and a big explosive chorus and hook on the way, and they certainly don't let you down with that.
That chorus is definitely the most memorable aspect of the track; however, I love the song's sonic drive as a whole because it's got this amazing guitar tone and that's part of where it gets this robust feel from.
The song is very lush and has a lot going on but still has this sort of simplicity that makes it addictive and catchy.
Again, that guitar tone changes between the verses and the chorus as the verses are cleaner and then the chorus bursts into a more vibrant and expansive guitar tone that comes through a little heavier but still with plenty of color.
I definitely can't get around the energy of this track because this also adds to the personality and character that it delivers but also to that alive and breathing feel that I mentioned before. After all, it almost feels like it's a live performance in certain aspects.
What certainly gets me about this song is that not only can you imagine hearing this in the scene of a film or show, but at certain times it feels like the song could have served as part of the soundtrack to a chapter in your own life.
This is super connective and made everything feel honest.
This was a massive, wonderfully woven, colorful, and charismatic pop-rock single that I will not soon forget, and I would suggest you take a good listen to it.
When you're done with that, I would also suggest taking a little bit of a deep dive into their back catalog on Spotify because it's amazing and they have a lot of releases that showcase their songwriting styles and even evolution as a band.
Dig into this one as soon as you can.
