A Beautifully Expansive and Emotion Invoking Release from Thomas Ciufo

ree

Thomas Ciufo is a sound artist and composer who just released a new album, and this record takes you on a massive musical ride with incredible vastness flowing through its veins and a drifting tonality that beckons you to drift alongside it as the expansive soundscapes engulf you and whisk you away into these otherworldly experiences.

There is something strangely contemplative and almost vulnerable about The Rising Moon.

It's an album that features such sonic presence and unique but almost nostalgic overtones while invading your brain with these thoughts that the sounds that you produce on your own.

This is an electronic kind of record, but it's not typical electronic. It is a digitally orchestrated, cinematic, theatrical, and powerful set of songs that you should listen to while lying in a field somewhere staring up at the stars in the night sky.

Listening to this record can bring up your past, ponder your future, and just create an atmosphere for you to swim through, all while giving you a beautifully conducted and free-flowing landscape of Sonic texture.

You can't help but flow with this record. It wraps its arms around you and brings you into its light in such a particular and unique way that after a few songs, you don't want to leave that atmosphere. You want to stay there and soak up the rest of what it's offering to you.

The album is built with a set of ambient electronic pieces that are embedded in synth pads and piano. There's such a wonderful structure to a lot of these songs, but there's also this open freeness. There's something insanely freeing about this record, and the way that it invokes certain kinds of emotion is incredible because it happens when you least expect it.

This is an album that will have some sort of effect on you. Again, it can bring up your past, which is just you doing it yourself, but it's the tones and expansive Melodies that are thought-producing. Certain kinds of sounds point you in a certain direction, and your mind just does the rest.

You can see entire stories unfold in your head as you listen to some of these tracks, and it's something that you need to sort of buckle in for because it lets you look inward in a certain way.

Some of these are almost meditative, spiritual, ethereal, and can create great impact emotionally if you open yourself up to it, which is exactly what you should be doing when you listen to music like this. You should be opening yourself up because there's a lot that it has to actually offer you if you do so.

The robust ambience of the record's landscape alone is something that can come at times, be somewhat overwhelming to some.

Again, this is because it invokes thought and emotion.

For me, this record was both angelic and haunting, cathartic and spiritual, emotional and personal.

This is the kind of record that puts you in control in a way.

It sets up this ocean of thought and emotion, but it's up to you to jump into that ocean and start swimming around in it.

What gets me is this wonderful combination of textural tones and gorgeous sonic resonance that emanates from the songs, almost like they have an aura.

I feel like each person who listens to this record is going to take it differently.

It will affect them, but it will be different for each individual listener.

For many, they will look inward the way that I did from listening to this. But either way, it will be an experience to be had.

This is an album that you listen to with headphones on so that you can really take part in that full experience. Jump into that ocean and actually swim around in all of these sounds and textures flowing through the ethers of the songs and creating thick atmospheres for you to float with.

If that's not your game, then just listen to it in the car, but do it alone.

This can be transformative if you let it.

I'm not sure if it was created purposely to have that much impact, but it does and will to some.

A beautiful and articulate set of emotion-involving and sonically shimmering pieces of music, listen to The Rising Moon and you'll see exactly what I mean.
