An absolutely gorgeous new single from Emily Sara comes through with such a robust personality and character that you end up getting attached right from the start and as the song plays out, you find yourself connecting with its premise and what she's singing about. You think of your person or memories of your past may pop up in your head. Either way, the single has a way of wrapping itself around you and keeping you right where it wants to.
"Aura" has a beautiful way of sort of growing and intensity as the song plays out and you end up getting washed away with the entire soundscape of it all because it's got this extremely soulful performance vocally and these layers of tracks that come bellowing in and out adding more depth to everything but it also feels somewhat dreamy and you can easily tell this came from someplace completely real.
These are the kinds of things that get you attached. These are the kinds of things that make Emily Sarah an artist that you want to pay attention to because she's giving pieces of herself with her music.
I think that this track in particular lets her really let loose a little bit vocally and so she's able to put a lot of passion into her performance, and she had fun with some double tracking and layering which makes everything so much lusher.
To me, this track had a lot of cinematic backbone to it, and I can easily see it in the scene of a film because it's got this expansive and vast undertone, but it also has a lot of emotional drive to it, and I think that combination really makes it intense.
Emily did an amazing job of letting her presence sort of shine as an artist and it makes you want to find out more about her which is exactly what happened to me so, listening to this track I did take a little bit of a deep dive into her back catalog and I'm super happy that that happened because, I found an EP and a couple of other singles that all definitely show the same level of honesty that this one does.
So now I can tell that she always puts pieces of herself into her songs and she does this to let things out.
Listen to this track in particular it feels almost like it would have been very cathartic for Emily to write and release and perhaps it was.
But, for the listener it can be very relatable and understandable.
As I mentioned before, this track can definitely cause certain memories to float in and out of your brain while you're listening to it and that's because it's so relatable, and again, it's got the emotional impact.
This was a beautifully woven single that honestly speaks volumes for Emily Sara as an artist and as a person and it feels good to listen to songs like this because there's so much personality involved and it's so authentic.
This is something that I sort of miss in different kinds of music. That authenticity that lets you know what she's singing about came from someplace real.
To hear it now was so refreshing.
This is a song that will stick with you and have ways of floating around in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended and the only way to say she ate that is to go back and listen to it once more.
But, don't take my word for it, go listen to the track and see how it affects you.
