With the release of the Shine EP, Slowfade takes the best parts of several rock genres to build a sound all their own. Laced with character, a heavy approach, and plenty of heart, the record boasts the aesthetic of alt-rock anthems.

The first single and title track "Shine" is a personal and lush track that becomes quickly addictive and showcases a smart rock songwriting style.

“Shine is about living your life to the fullest, focus on the positive, do what makes you happy and fulfilled in your life. Don’t focus on the negative energy vampires, and shine in life!" explains songwriter Todd Riffel of the single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the band to get a solid grasp on where Slowfade is coming from, the full EP is a must hear.

"I've always used music to release negative energy and talk about more of life's hardships but tried something different this time channeling a more positive message. Everyones had a rough past few years and been surrounded by enough negative shit and I feel like we're all ready for things to turn around eventually into a new era of positivity." says Riffel of the change in his songwriting.

Slowfade is the brainchild of songwriter Todd Riffel and the story of how it all started for him goes back to growing up listening to all kinds of bands from the 80's and 90's from metal to post punk, Depeche Mode to Bad Brains and everything in between.

Riffel started his first band in Maui Hawaii and after gaining enough experience on the stage, he decided to move to Hollywood where he put a new band together and began recording new songs and playing shows around Los Angeles.

It wasn't long before Riffel met June Kato and found their styles and personalities clicked all too well. The two began writing together and the flow was instantly natural.

The two ended up playing multiple shows throughout California, opening multiple shows with HR of Bad Brains, and recording their past EP “Tonight” with Josh Freese on drums, and most recently worked with Kellii Scott of Failure who appears on drums on the “Shine” EP.

The release is a testament to where they are with their sound right now.

The Shine EP is available for streaming and download on most major outlets and the band is always writing new material for upcoming releases.
