With the release of the Ineffable EP, Zach Inoue takes a fresh approach to a classic genre and makes it all his own. Laced with character, an honest approach, and plenty of heart, the record boasts the aesthetic of indie-pop anthems.
The first single "Faded" is a personal and lush track that becomes quickly addictive and showcases a smart songwriting style.
“Faded” is a song about having to grow up and learn to deal with grief. I’m of the belief that if we should always be learning and growing throughout life, and since loss of any kind is something that creates unavoidable grief, we should learn to accept that it’s inevitable and find meaning from it. The song is a realization." explains the songwriter of his single.
Although the single speaks volumes for the EP, it is quite interesting to listen to the release in full as the other 2 tracks are also "Faded" with one version sped up, and another slowed down. This gives a whole different feel to the song.
"So, I decided to release the sped up and slowed down version because of TikTok, if I’m being totally honest. I’ve noticed for a while now that songs, almost immediately after getting attention, get sped up and then get used for videos. I mainly got the idea from a band called Cafune." says Zach about the other versions of the song.
The story of how Zach fell for music starts at a very young age as some of his youngest childhood memories are echoed with the likes of John Coltrain, Reggae music, The Beatles, and so much more.
Growing up in a house full of so much music, it wasn't long before he ended up with a guitar in his hands but didn't really learn to play until he was about 10 years old. Once he figured out a few chords, he was instantly hooked.
Aside from his mom teaching him how to finger pick, it was YouTube that ended up being his teacher. By the time he was 16 he was writing his own songs and using Garageband to record them.
From there he has been honing his craft, both recording and songwriting and "Faded" is a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.
Ineffable is available for streaming and download on most major outlets and Zach is always writing new material for upcoming releases.
