The Refreshing And Honest Sounds of Syer

A recent singer release from Syer gives off a unique approach and a combination of genres that brings together elements of dream pop, indie pop, hip hop, and R&B all rolled into one massive release that reads such character and atmosphere that you can't help but get attached immediately.

"Wish" gives off such a soiree of lyrical phrasing and done with this certain kind of swagger that gives that approach all of its persona but it's also in the way he squeezes words into certain lines and comes through with a style and feel that when you hear it, you know it's him.

This is something that not a lot of artists have so when you come across it you can hear it and you realize it.

This track speaks volumes for the artist as he's able to put in a lot of honesty and a lot to say in one 3-minute time span and it is indeed plenty to soak in and there are indeed layers to be peeled back throughout the course of the song.

The production is outstanding as well as you have these sort of keys and synths that float through the song's ether building on that vast undertone and that atmosphere I spoke of earlier and the whole thing is kind of like an escape because while the song is playing, you're pulled away from your surroundings and you're just paying full attention to what's going on in the track.

I certainly love songs that are a form of escapism in this track is a perfect example of that because you're not in your reality while it's playing, you're in his.

This kind of connection is not normal, and I feel like Syer is the type of artist to keep an eye out for because he's releasing music with much fewer boundaries than what you may be used to so there's no cookie-cutter approach and there's no following formulas.

He's out there doing his thing in his own style and paving his path in music however he wants to and I feel like songs like this are somewhat cathartic to write and release because it's very emotionally based if you really listen to it.

He's letting out a lot of stuff and he touches on a bunch of different topics but all in all, he's giving you pieces of his personality and that is something that makes a really good artist.

There was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this track, but it never loses that persona or the heart that it begins with in the first place, and this may be the most important part of the whole thing.

With a very particular energy that lets the song sort of swell and sway, flow and it's also forward moving and inventive which I think is part of what the future of pop will sound like.

Being able to create a song that sort of bends genres like this is a rarity especially when it works so well and on top of that you have someone who delivers a vocal style that is unique and all his own, so this track gets a straight 9 out of 10 from me simply because this is breaking boundaries ever so slightly enough for you to notice and I love that.

Definitely check this truck out as soon as you can, and I suggest listening to it with headphones because it's one of the best ways to soak it in.
