With the release of "My Fantasies", Dark Archer takes a new approach to blending genres to create something all its own. Laced with character, an edgy undertone, and memorable hooks, the record boasts the aesthetic of alt-pop anthems.
"The single is about fantasies! We all have them. We like to call the more realistic ones “dreams” and simply discard the crazier ones - only to regret it later. Some are more attainable than others but that makes them no less legitimate." explains songwriter Jason McDonald of the single.
Although the singles speak volumes for the project, to get a full understanding of where Dark Archer is really coming from, it will be important to stick around for upcoming releases.
“I’m far more focused now. Focused on the story and letting the song tell it well. If I’m not paying attention, then I’m just getting in the way, so I try to avoid that.” says McDonald of his creation process now.
Dark Archer is the brainchild of [producer, engineer, and songwriter Jason McDonald and although his passion for music began when he was just a child, things really changed when he picked up his first guitar at the age of 14. It wasn't long at all before he began writing his own songs and started bands covering classics by Zeppelin and Hendrix.
As time went on McDonald fell deeper in love with playing, writing, and producing. Building his pedal board and learning new songs was normal. He began getting into classical music as he expanded his sonic toolbox.
When Covid lockdown came to be, he took the time to sit down and create. There were a lot of ideas he had waiting and this was a perfect excuse to begin on them again.
Taking the time he wanted to work on material was just what he needed as the experience started to build into something new and Dark Archer was born.
"My Fantasies" is available on most major streaming outlets and McDonald is ready to release the next Dark Archer single in a few months time.
