Chris Adkins

With the release of the A Fox in the Hen House LP, Chris Adkins takes a new approach to a few classic genres to create something all their own. Laced with character, an edgy and powerful undertone, and plenty of hooks, the record boasts the aesthetic of folk anthems.

The first single "Ghost!" grabs you with an honest and powerful approach.

"Ghost!" is about how people you love and care about can become ghosts in your life, with the occasional haunting or two. The catalyst for this song in particular happened to be a former love interest that, just when things were beginning to blossom, fled to Belgium in light of a recent divorce. The song also delves into the idea that, in some cases, we can be most honest and open with newer connections and especially those that we acknowledge are likely temporary connections.  Additionally, the second verse asks for the same kind of honesty in return, something that is never really granted. " explains the songwriter of his single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the album, to get a full understanding of where Adkins is really coming from, the album should be heard in its entirety.

"I've definitely learned how to capture my sound a lot better on this album.  I really feel like this album captures the sound that I was going for when I conceived the idea a little over a year ago. Folky, but not too folky. Indie, but not so indie that it didn't stand out. I don't know, I'm really happy with my progression as an artist thus far." says the artist on his evolution in songwriting.

Chris Adkins began playing and even writing songs at the age of only 6 and although he loved doing so, it wasn't until his sophomore year of college that things really changed.

It was then that Chris wrote and recorded his first record Soft on the floor of his dorm room.

After that the artist went on to experiment with his sound and grow as a songwriter and as he did, he began to hone in on his personal style and approach.

A Fox in the Hen House serves as a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.

The album is available on all major outlets for streaming and download and the artist is always working on new material for upcoming releases.
